If you don’t want many more body bags, then you refrain from politicizing it,” World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus chastised President Donald Trump, on March 8, 2020, for his threat to halt US funding, due to Mr. Tedros’ mishandling of the coronavirus pandemic. The US is WHO’s largest benefactor – over $893 million during 2018 – 2019. On April 14, POTUS declared he was suspending aid to WHO, pending a review of its negligence in handling the viruses outbreak.

Tedros, and his confederate, Chinese President-for-Life, Xi Jinping, were not alone in placing a cordon sanitaire around COVID-19. British scientific journal “Nature” apologized for previously associating the pathogen with China and the Wuhan Institute of Virology and branded President Trump a racist for his calling it a “Chinese virus”. Communist China had already silenced doctors who warned of the seriousness of COVID-19 and ousted journalists who reported on it.

On Tedros’ watch, the WHO sugarcoated China’s coronavirus falsehoods and soft-pedaled its seriousness. Prior to an investigative visit to China, on January 14, WHO echoed Beijing’s claim that there was “no clear evidence of human-to-human transmission”. Two weeks later, after China’s report of over 4,500 viral cases, and more than 70 people in other nations having been sickened by it, Tedros visited President Xi Jinping and commended his “transparency”. On January 30, WHO finally declared coronavirus a public health emergency, still rebuking Trump for restrictions on travel from China, and labeling the virus’ spread outside China “minimal and slow”.

During 1986, newly graduated from the University of Asmara, Eritrea, with a degree in biology, Tedros began working as a health official in the regime of Ethiopia’s Marxist dictator, Mengistu Haile Mariam. He joined the Tigrayan People’s Liberation Front, which began as a Communist party and played a major role, during 1991, in ousting Mariam. TPLF merged with the Ethopian Peoples’ Revolutionary Democratic Front, becoming part of a coalition of hard-left parties that ruled Ethiopia until 2019. EPRDF was declared a terrorist organization, during the 1990’s, by the United States. TPLF is still listed in the Global Terrorist Database.

Tedros was Ethiopia’s Minister of Health, 2005 – 2012, and its Foreign Minister, 2012 – 2016. During the latter, he was accused by Human Rights Watch, among other groups, of orchestrating the jailing and systematic torture campaigns of political opponents, arranging “disappearances” of enemies of the state and repressing the media. He is the first WHO Director-General possessing no medical degree, rather, a PhD in Community Health from the UK’s University of Nottingham.

In October 2017, Tedros wished to appoint the late Zimbabwe dictator, Robert Mugabe, then 93, as WHO’s “goodwill ambassador of non-communicable diseases”. This was rescinded after a global outcry by over two dozen organizations, including World Heart Federation and Cancer Research UK. Mugabe brutally ruled – and ruined – his country by way of land seizures, suppression of political opponents and bloody mass human- rights abuses.

Tedros has a propensity for cloaking epidemics. In 2006, 2009 and 2011, Ethiopia suffered serious cholera outbreaks, which he dismissed as merely episodes of “acute watery diarrhea”, arguing it was “difficult to test for cholera”. The Ethiopian government restricted international aid for these epidemics. Tedros viewed allegations of his poor performance as “smear campaigns” by jealous political rivals. WHO officials complained that Ethiopian officials, particularly Tedros, were guilty of covering up the truth about these scourges, yet, in July 2017, they hired him as Director-General, salary $260K per year. The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation had a major role in supporting Tedros’ appointment.

WHO, initially hesitant to declare COVID-19 a pandemic, had a change of heart when, in February 2020, $3.6 billion poured into their coffers from Sugar Papa Gates, who provides ten percent of their donations. Gates is the first private citizen to keynote WHO’s general assembly. He’s been called one of the most influential people on the global health platform. Brilliant Harvard dropout – no MD here, either.

There is evidence that COVID-19 “escaped” from the Wuhan Institute of Virology, though WIV claims it has a “strict regulatory regime and code of conduct for research”. However, concerns were raised, by the US State Department, during 2018, regarding the safety procedures of WIV’s bat – and other – wet work research projects.

Senator John Kennedy (R-LA) quipped, “If you turned President Xi upside down and shook him, the WHO would fall out of his pocket”. Let’s add Bill Gates to this misalliance.
